1. Internet Privacy and SafetyStudent Questionnaire Handout
This lesson was very successful
Before we began using the blog or posting, I thought it was important to address potential problems and dangers associated with using the web, especially when posting on a public site.  Rather than give the students a list of "do's and don't's", which would certainly be boring and not student-centered, I created a list of discussion questions.  This questionnaire served several purposes:
     A. Gave me a sense of individual students' experience.  I knew which students had no experience, and would need the most help.  I knew which students were expert, and could assist others.
     B. Beginning web/computer users could voice their fears and concerns, and quickly see they weren't the only ones.
     C. Intermediate and expert users identify their existing skills, while considering future goals.
     D. We only discussed the issues most pertinant to the students.
     E. We set boundaries according to the students' suggestions.  In my class, students were incredibly diplomatic when discussing what is and is not appropriate for a classroom blog.
